I think this happens for a reason, as there is often a deeper problem at the root of the fact that someone is cheating. What I often notice is that a people don't take enough time for each other, b needs are often not discussed enough, c people tend to think that they own each other. And that has a suffocating effect. It's not bad to talk about feelings or thoughts. You should just be able to talk about it, in my opinion. So I'm a free thinker and I'm also free in relationships. That has nothing to do with freedom and happiness, but offering the other person and yourself the space to be and remain yourself in a relationship and also the space to have your own life alongside your relationship.
@Madeleine I agree with you, lack of communication is a big problem and also, this thing about treat the other one as our property, definitely it will lead the relationship in a bad ending.
I feel, that forgiveness lies with each affected individual. In order to forgive, one in this case must be willing to forget. Therein lies a problem for future trust in the relationship.
@roxana_ac I have seen it in people separated due to infidelity's and then getting back together again. Always watching each other. Waiting for one or the other to step out of line!
No too pleasant experience should your other half have ridden a skewed skate, but it is not insurmountable.... Show moreNo too pleasant experience should your other half have ridden a skewed skate, but it is not insurmountable.
In my opinion, every relationship starts from trust and communication. Because if there are secrets and insincerity between two people in love, couple or married people from the beginning, it only gets worse in the long term.
Forgiving could, in principle, although I doubt it will be a matter of course. Forgetting is already a much more difficult wish, because trust has been quite a dent.
Although, everything is possible. depends from person to person.
@Marc De Bisschop I think like you, the lack of communication in any relationship, in the long run, is a problem, I do not think that there is a healthy relationship that works without trust.
